Job Purpose
- Accountable to the Head of Junior School and, through the Head of Junior School, to the Headmistress of Uppingham Hung Yen.
- The Junior School EAL Teacher plays a key role in supporting students for whom English is an Additional Language to access the curriculum fully and make strong academic and personal progress.
- The post holder will deliver high - quality EAL teaching, support inclusive classroom practice and work collaboratively with academic staff and the Head of Inclusion to ensure that all learners are valued, supported and challenged appropriately.
- Uppingham School, Hung Yen is a diverse international school in Vietnam, serving learners from a range of linguistic, cultural and educational backgrounds. The role requires flexibility, cultural sensitivity and a commitment to inclusive international education.

Job Criteria
Education, Skills, Training and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (education related preferred).
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent).
- EAL/ESL qualification (e.g. TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, DELTA) or strong evidence of relevant experience.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
Desirable Experience and Skills
- Experience teaching EAL learners in a primary or junior school setting.
- Experience working in an international or multilingual school environment.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices and language - support strategies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, inclusion staff and school leaders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Competence in using digital tools to support teaching and assessment.
