I am proud and excited to welcome you to Uppingham Hung Yen, Hanoi. As we prepare to open our doors in August 2026, we stand on the edge of a new chapter that intertwines Uppingham’s near 450-year heritage of holistic education with Vietnam’s rich culture.

Uppingham School in the UK is defined by pioneering, not by standing still. It reimagines education, focusing on developing the whole person. We are honoured to bring that same innovative spirit to Hung Yen, developing a unique learning community where timeless values meet future-focused vision.

Our mission is to provide an exceptional education that nurtures academic excellence alongside the pupils’ character, creativity and spirit, to define tomorrow’s leaders.

Our classrooms inspire scholarship, ignite intellectual curiosity and encourage pupils to question deeply, think independently and collaborate with purpose.

True to Uppingham’s ethos, education extends far beyond classroom walls. A blend of music, arts, design, innovation, sport and service leadership is woven into the daily life of our school. Passions will be discovered, talents perfected and young people will learn the value of teamwork, discipline and contributing to something greater than themselves.

As the founding Headmistress, my vision is for Uppingham Hung Yen to be a warm, inclusive and aspirational community. As part of the global Uppingham family, doors will open for our pupils to connect, collaborate and learn with peers across the world.

This global perspective, rooted in local context, will help equip them with the empathy and understanding needed to thrive in an interconnected world.
